Terschelling, October 7th, 2025
High Tide 120 cm 10:09
Low Tide -106 cm 16:31
On Terschelling, I found a schedule of the tides in the local paper. A tide cycle is 12 hours and 25 minutes. You have two full tide cycles during a lunar day of 24hours and 50 minutes. I learned that on October 7th on Terschelling the highest tide would be at 10:09. At that time I started walking along the waterline and turned around every 30 minutes. An app on my phone drew a digital line of the route that I walked. At 16:31 the tide was at its lowest so that meant my walk was finished. The map showed the image of the waterline slowly moving away from the shore. The Earth, Moon, Sun and I, with the Sea as our translator, created a drawing of how our movements combined that day.
